ABOUT THIS CONCERT
Starting in 2024, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra (MCO) will take over the Artistic Direction of the renowned Musikwoche Hitzacker for five years. Titled, aus Leidenschaft (Out of Passion) the festival's 38th edition will reflect the MCO's own passion for music and their wish to engage in an active dialogue with audiences and the festival itself.
How does musical dialogue work between the soloist and the orchestra, and among the orchestra's musicians, particularly when there is no conductor? Through the transformative power of listening, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra goes beyond the conventional expectations of what an orchestra can do, pushing the boundaries of its artistry and exploring new realms of musical expression.
Violinist Alina Ibragimova and musicians from the MCO will discuss and perform works in Leiten und leiten lassen (Lead and to be led), giving audiences insight into the intricacies of musical communication.
