ABOUT THIS CONCERT
The Muckemacher are Verena Roth and Florian Erlbeck from Berlin. Inspired by their own children and the musical history of their former Munich-based band "Les Babacools", they have been creating songs and video clips for children in their studio since 2012. Their work captivates not only children but also their parents with a unique sound and visual aesthetic, as well as a strong sense of current and timeless themes.
Their message is clear: new music for children is needed. Whether mixing cumbia with reggae or hip hop with Balkan sounds, whether it's electro swing, Afrobeat, mambo, calypso, funk, dub, or rocksteady – the Muckemacher explore all their favorite styles and strike a chord, as heard on their three albums *Diggidiggi Bambam*, *Kurukuku*, and *Biri Bababai*. Additionally, their music and lyrics are widely used both in Germany and abroad: in educational institutions for preschool children, in German and music classes for students, and even for German learners worldwide (DaF – German as a Foreign Language). Since 2018, they have had a collaboration with the Goethe Institute in Milan.
Without cooperation with a major label, the Muckemacher have become an integral part of the German children's music scene. Verena's international background and her understanding of growing up with multiple languages and cultures ensure that German children's music can be different, resonating with everyone who calls this country home.
