ABOUT THIS CONCERT
This concert features Mozart’s piano concertos no. 17 & 25 with Mitsuko Uchida directing the Mahler Chamber Orchestra from the keyboard. Between the two concertos, the MCO strings play Mozart’s Divertimento K. 137 lead by the MCO concertmaster.
The same two Mozart concertos were on the programme for Mitsuko Uchida and the MCO’s first collaboration which took place on a Spain and Portugal tour in 2013 and inspired the mutual wish to continue and further develop the Artistic Partnership between the nomadic orchestra and the legendary pianist.
