Finally October has arrived, bringing the first tour of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra with Maestro Riccardo Chailly.

First we will travel to Japan for our first concerts in the beautiful Suntory Hall.

Going to the Far East is always a big deal with an important jet-lag and each musician has his/her own way of managing it and trying to be ready and fresh for the two rehearsal days before the first concert.

We are playing two different and demanding programs during this tour, one with Beethoven/Stravinsky, the other with Strauss pieces.

After the beautiful concerts in Tokyo it is time for Kawasaki and Kyoto, and then we are off to Seoul and Beijing.
Everybody spends the free time we have doing different activities: sport, sightseeing, practicing, a bit of shopping and very important... searching for nice restaurants to enjoy the local delicacies.

Now I am writing on the plane going home... from the past two weeks I will keep with me many nice memories, beautiful musical moments, the feeling that the relationship between Maestro Chailly and the orchestra is getting more and more strong, all the smiley faces during applauses after the concerts...

Looking forward to the next adventures!

That's all from the skies... now I try to sleep for a while.
Chiara
