ABOUT THIS CONCERT
The MCO reconvenes with Artistic Partner Mitsuko Uchida to continue their long-term collaboration on Mozart’s piano concertos. This partnership, which began in January 2016, features Mitsuko Uchida leading the MCO from the keyboard.
In this concert, Mozart’s Piano Concertos no. 17 KV 453 and no. 25 KV 503 are complemented by Bartók’s Divertimento for Strings, led by MCO Concertmaster Matthew Truscott.
In recent years, the MCO has been a frequent guest in Hamburg. This concert sees the MCO giving its debut concert in the Elbphilharmonie, the much-anticipated addition to Hamburg’s arts scene opening its doors to the public in January 2017.
