Friederike Wildberg

Operations and Legal Manager

The first piece of music you fell in love with:
Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2.

What makes a "perfect" concert? When the musicians’ enthusiasm and passion is transported across the room and erases all other distractions from your mind, allowing you to feel completely encompassed by the music you hear; a concert that makes you forget for a moment that there is a world outside the doors of the concert hall.

Which are your Desert Island Discs?
Dvořák's Cello Concerto
Brahms' Symphonies Nos. 1–4
The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band

Friederike Wildberg grew up in Latvia and Germany. Music has always played an important role in her life: besides being an avid concert-goer, she plays the piano in her free time and took up organ lessons during her time at university. Her curiosity for different cultures and her love for nature have taken her on travels all around the world.

Friederike studied law in Freiburg, Buenos Aires and Berlin. She also obtained a bilingual LL.M. degree from the College of Europe in Bruges. Her previous work experience includes positions at the German Federal Foreign Office, a legal tech start-up and the Bundestag in Berlin, as well as an NGO in Namibia. Friederike worked as deputy head in the administration of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, where she was able to combine her love for music with her academic interests for the first time.

Friederike joined the MCO in February 2020 as Operations and Legal Manager to continue combining her professional career with her passion for music in a diverse and inspiring international workplace.
